ISSNAF encourages its members and affiliates to activate or join a Local Chapter.

These local, autonomous entities operate and are organized in accordance with the mission and governance of ISSNAF.

Their membership is composed of members and affiliates of ISSNAF in a defined geographical area and their goal is to promote the contact and exchange of knowledge between Italian scientists, scholars and entrepreneurs in that area.

Chapters generally operate under the auspices of the local Italian Consulate and other Italian Agencies such as the Istituto Italiano di Cultura (IIC) and the Istituto per il Commercio Estero (ICE).
