ISSNAF institutional objective to advocate the improvement of scientific, scholarly, and entrepreneurial activity and organizations within Italy is actively pursued at many levels.
The ISSNAF network of Italian talent in North America is an immense resource for the Sistema Italia.
The Foundation facilitates the transfer of knowledge and experience collecting the input of its members and channeling it to Italian Institutions and organizations.
ISSNAF survey on Taxation and Visa issues in the US
In March 2013, an ISSNAF working group composed by renowned researchers presented H.E. Ambassador Claudio Bisogniero with a comprehensive set of recommendations to tackle issues related to taxation, visas and other bureaucratic aspects of the life of Italian researchers in the United States.
The document based its conclusion on a wide survey conducted on over 800 Italian researchers and will be a useful resource for the upcoming negotiations of the "Italy-USA Treaty on Scientific and Technological Cooperation".

Task Force Scienziati Italiani nel mondo
Following the outcomes of the roundtable “Gli scienziati italiani nel mondo e la crescita del paese” held in Rome on April 17, 2012, ISSNAF contributed to the activation of the task force charged with addressing the following themes:
1) Networking as a tool to connect Italian researchers who live abroad and Italian institutions
2) Research and Production
3) Legal features of University and Reseach
4) Visas and residence permits
The working groups were established on May 10th, 2012 during a kick-off meeting where ISSNAF was represented by Vito Campese and Mario Strazzabosco. Feed-back from the work groups will be presented to MIUR and MAE by summer 2012.
ISSNAF proposal for research in Italy
On May 7, 2012 an ISSNAF delegation introduced and discussed with Minister Profumo (MIUR) an detailed proposal of reform of research in Italy. The proposal, currently studied by MIUR, is sticulated in two separate documents:

“Innovitalia” is the new digital platform introduced at the Farnesina on October 4 2012 by Foreign Minister Giulio Terzi and the Minister of Education, Universities and Research, Francesco Profumo.
At the launch event participants included the Director of RAI Educational, Silvia Calandrelli; the President of Crowdengineering, Gioacchino La Vecchia; and, by video link, Mario Raviglione and Fabiola Gianotti from Geneva, Vito Campese, ISSNAF President from Los Angeles and Riccardo Lattanzi from New York.
