Translational research has been the main focus of the ISSNAF-Seattle Chapter inaugural meeting, titled "From Research to Commercialization". In presence of the ISSNAF president Dr. Vito Campese and the Italian Honorary Consul in Seattle, Mr. Franco Tesorieri, five selected speakers have provided forty attendees with practical examples and advice on how to transform ideas into business opportunities.
Dennis A. Hanson from the University of Washington Center for Commercialization (C4C) has effectively explained how academic institutions are now stepping forward in helping university employees transformideas into products and launch their own start-up company.
In parallel, Andrea Riposati from Amazon.comInc. shared valuable advice on the same topic for those that wish to develop their ideas outside of academic institutions. |
