2011 ISSNAF Annual Event-Winners

DSC 4180An Issnaf Scientific Committee has selected the research projects presented by Claudia Scarlata who was awarded the 2011 ISSNAF Young Investigator Award, and Ennio Tasciotti who was awarded the 2011 Paola Campese Award for Research on Leukemia.

On the 17th Of September 2011, ISSNAF held its Annual Event at the Institute of Physics and Astronomy of the University of California in Los Angeles with the participation of Vito M Campese, President ISSNAF, Giuseppe Perrone, Consul General of Italy in Los Angeles, Massimo Casciello, Direttore Generale, Dir. Scientifica e Tecnologica, Ministero della Salute, James Rosenzweig, Chairman, Department of Physics and Astronomy, and several members of ISSNAF Board of Directors.

During the meeting oral and poster presentations have been performed. All the presentations were a proof of the talent and the efforts of many young Italian scientists. Amongst all the progect presented an ISSNAF giury selected the one presented by Claudia Scarlata (University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN) entitled "Polarized radiation reveals new aspects of nebulae" and the one presented by Ennio Tasciotti (The Methodist Hospital Institute, Houston, TX) entitled "Biological camouflage and its diagnostic and therapeutic implications".

During the guest speaker section, Luciano Saccani Senior Vice President, Thales Alenia Space presented "The International Space Station Project".
