The foundation's goal is to facilitate sharing of know-how and scientific information between Italian and American scientists in academia, government, industry, and the public at large both in Italy and in North America. ISSNAF intends to do it creating a fellowship program for exchange of scientists and providing advice to Italian organizations on research activities and issues of competitiveness. Moreover, ISSNAF is committed in identifing funding opportunities to support joint research projects between Italian and North American Scientists.
If you are an italian scientist, scholar or professional working in the United States of America or in Canada you can join the ISSNAF foundation and help us to keep alive the collaborative links between North America and Italy.

The following are the three qualifying requirements to become a member of ISSNAF:
1. have at least one year of association with an American academic or scientific institution,
2. own a college degree or above,
3. be of Italian origin.
