IMT Institute for Advanced Studies Lucca is currently accepting expressions of interest for the position of Director (equivalent to the position of Rettore in accordance with Law 240 of 2010) of the Institute.
IMT (www.imtlucca.it) is an international public Graduate School and Institute of Technology, inserted into the Italian university system by special ordinance, that strives to reach the fusion of theoretical comprehension and practical relevance.

The successful participant must currently hold an appointment as Full Professor within the Italian university system and be scientifically recognized by the international academic community.

Participants should be active in the fields of analysis and management of complex systems in a technological or engineering discipline, in accordance with the strategic planning goals of the Institute.

The participant must also have an excellent understanding of research systems and in Italy and abroad.

In their expressions of interest participants must include a cover letter, indicating within the name of 3 referees, a detailed CV and a statement of up to 30,000 characters (spaces included) highlighting the most fundamental characteristics of their appointment as Director, in concert with the IMT mission statement and development plan regarding research, teaching, local relationships and administrative management.

Everything must be handed into the Administration Office by May 31st 2012.
