An international symposium on the topic of ''Environment, natural resources and eco-tourism: tools for peace building, state building and sustainable development: The Balkans in Focus, with Comparative Perspectives," organized by The Fund for Global Environment and Conflict Resolution (The Fund) -- a joint initiative of CICR and the Italian Ministry for Environment Land and Sea -- will take place in NY on January 29, 2010. A  a multi-disciplinary panel of high-level practitioners, academics and policy-makers will gather at  Columbia University to discuss key issues related to sustainable development, environmental policy-making and peace building in the Balkans.

"Physics for Health" at CERN
SwitzerlandThe first CERN international workshop on Physics for Health in Europe will review progress of physics applications in life sciences with particular focus on the development of new diagnostic techniques and cancer therapies. The workshop will take place at CERN, Switzerland, on February 2-4, 2010.
