Alberto Sangiovanni Vincentelli is awarded the Honorary Doctorate by Aalborg University (AAU).

Throughout the years Aalborg University has awarded the honorary doctorate to persons who have contributed to research of international importance. AAU's interdisciplinary, problem-oriented approach to research and education, has earned a wide reputation as the “Aalborg Model.” Aalborg University greatly emphasizes international relations and cooperation. AAU doctorate award follows the Maxwell and Newton awards received earlier by Alberto Sangiovanni Vincentelli.
