Mission Statement - ISSNAF - Italian Scientists and Scholars in North America Foundation

Young ISSNAF is the “network-inside-the-network” of under-40 ISSNAF affiliates, Italian investigators and scholars of all areas of scientific and academic research.

Young-ISSNAF is a platform for promoting career opportunities, a virtual space to share experiences, seek advice and find collaborators.

We are willing to take the challenge of prospering with wisdom, expertise, dignity and knowledge outside of Italy, within a community of Italians, ready to do our part for the growth of our Nation.

Objectives & rules

Young-ISSNAF mentorship program, open to all ISSNAF affiliates, aims to support junior Italian scientists and scholars in their career choices and professional growth.

Just as Mentor in “Odyssey”, a mentor is not only a guide but also a protector, a friend, a teacher and a sort of parental figure.

Mentors & Mentees

Mentors serving in this program are all ISSNAF affiliates in the academic ranks either of "full professors" or "associate professor".

Mentees must be ISSNAF affiliates under 40 years of age. To become an ISSNAF Affiliate go to AFFILIATION FORM

Young ISSNAF for MoH

young investigators_with_Balduzzi The Evaluation Committee for the Call for Young Researchers 2010 completed its works on May 4, 2012. The program provides a fund of Eur30.6M for research projects in the clinical care and biomedical fields presented by under 40 investigators. The projects are evaluated according to the method of peer review. ISSNAF supported the Ministry during the review process.The Minister of Health, Professor Renato Balduzzi, met with the Committee on May 3rd.
