AWARD FOR THE HUMANITIES

The ISSNAF - LaFondazioneNY Award for the Humanities is presented to the worthiest unpublished manuscript of a volume in English dealing with topics in the context of Italian culture within the areas of Social History (History & Political Sciences), Intellectual History (Literature, Philosophy, Religion & Cultural Studies), Art (Art History, Visual art & Performing arts). The Award acknowledges the research of young Italian scholars in North America whose commitment to their discipline of study is innovative and honors their country of origin.

The winner receives the Medal of Representation of the Italian President of the Republic and a monetary prize of $ 1,500. The winning manuscript is considered for publication with the Toronto University Press

AWARD FOR THE HUMANITIES

In partnership with:
Center for Italian Studies University of Pennsylvania

The 2013 ISSNAF - LaFondazioneNY Award for the Humanities will acknowledge the best unpublished manuscript of a volume in English dealing with aspects of the relationship between the Arts and Science and/or Technology in the context of Italian culture.

The best ranking finalists will be selected to present their manuscripts during the symposium hosted by the Center for Italian Studies at the University of Pennsylvania on November 4, 2013. The Jury will select the winner at the end of the symposium.

The Award will be officially presented during the LaFondazioneNY Gala in New York during the Fall of 2013.

2013 ISSNAF AWARD FOR THE HUMANITIES LAUREATE ISSNAF AWARD FOR THE HUMANITIES LAUREATE

Paola Bonifazio (UT Austin) received the 2013 ISSNAF Award for the Humanities  for the work entitled "Schooling in Modernity: The Politics of Sponsored Films in Postwar Italy".

Paola Bonifazio had the honor of receiving the "Medaglia di Rappresentanza del Presidente della Repubblica Italiana".
