Programs for Early-Career Members

The Young ISSNAF Mentoring Program for Early-Career Members focuses on career development. It connects mentees in all disciplines with experienced mentors (mid-career and higher) in our network.

The Young ISSNAF Fellowships offer outstanding early-career Italian researchers and technologists in Italy the opportunity to work at a research organization in North America.
Programs for Students

The Young ISSNAF Mentoring Program for Students offers career guidance to students enrolled in graduate or undergraduate programs in Italy and North America as well as to recent graduates. Mentees must be interested in opportunities in North America, such as to further their studies, to obtain an internship in an academic or research institution, or to pursue a career in academia or research.

The Young ISSNAF Internships give outstanding graduate students in Italy the opportunity to spend a training period at a North-American organization.

If you have an established career in North America, you can help to make this program successful by signing up to be a Young ISSNAF Mentor. This is a worthwhile opportunity for you to give back and have a significant impact on the career of a talented Italian. You might even gain helpful contacts for your own career, group, or research program!
Mentoring Program for Early-Career ISSNAF Members
This program focuses on career development and supports ISSNAF members in the early-career stage in North America to achieve their professional goals. Mentees are matched with experienced mentors (mid-career or higher) in the ISSNAF community with the same cultural and professional background.
Mentees are mentored for a period of one year with at least bi-monthly interactions with their mentor, or as agreed upon with their mentor.
Requirements
To be considered, the applicant is required to:

Be ISSNAF Member.

Pursue a career in North America.
-
Have earned their highest degree or completed clinical residency after January 1, 2011.

Mentoring Program for Students

YOUNG ISSNAF FELLOWSHIPS
Fellowships
ISSNAF supports the professional growth of outstanding early career researchers in Italy.
ISSNAF coordinates with Italian and North American institutions to set up and manage research fellowships. Selected researchers will spend one or more years at a research institution in North America. These experiences benefit both visiting researchers and hosting institutions, professionally and culturally.
These fellowships are named after their generous sponsors.
