From the ISSNAF Mentoring Program I hoped to receive clear guidance on how to navigate an academic path in North America—what steps to take, how to evaluate opportunities, and what “excellence” looks like in research environments.

How did this experience impact you?

Working with my mentor, Giovanni Parmigiani, we focused on my academic

trajectory and options ahead. His insights into top-tier research in statistics gave

me a sharper sense of direction and directly influenced my decision to pursue my

current MSc in Data Science. It also broadened my perspective on studying and

contributing within international research communities.
