Luca Pani Appointed ISSNAF New President

ISSNAF is pleased to announce the appointment of Luca Pani, MD, as its new President, effective July 1, 2026, following the conclusion of Dr. Cinzia Zuffada’s distinguished seven-year term.

ISSNAF extends its heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Zuffada for her visionary leadership, dedication, and lasting contributions, which have significantly advanced the Foundation’s mission, impact, and presence across North America and Italy.


Dr. Pani is Professor of Clinical Psychiatry and Medical Director of Continuing Education Programs at the University of Miami (USA) and Full Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Italy).


An internationally recognized leader in clinical pharmacology, regulatory science, and healthcare innovation, Dr. Pani has held senior roles at the Italian Medicines Agency (AIFA), the European Medicines Agency (EMA), the Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP), and the Scientific Advice Working Party (SAWP).


Dr. Pani is actively engaged in the global scientific and innovation ecosystem. He serves as Immediate Past President (2024–2026) of the International Society for CNS Clinical Trials and Methodology (ISCTM), is a Member of the Scientific Committee of the Italian Human Technopole (2026–2030), and holds advisory and executive roles in the biotechnology sector, including Chief Advisor at Relmada Therapeutics (USA) and Chief Regulatory and Innovation Officer at NetraMark (Canada).


A prolific author, Dr. Pani has published 245 peer-reviewed scientific articles and 26 books, contributing significantly to the advancement of pharmacology and clinical research methodology.
