Prof. Dalla-Favera is a prominent Italian-American scientist known for his groundbreaking work in cancer research, particularly in the field of lymphoma. He is widely recognized for his contributions to understanding the molecular and genetic mechanisms that drive the development of B-cell lymphomas, a type of blood cancer.


Prof. Dalla-Favera’s research has been instrumental in identifying key genetic mutations and pathways involved in lymphoma, which has paved the way for the development of targeted therapies. One of his major achievements is the discovery of the role of the MYC oncogene in the development of Burkitt's lymphoma. His work has had a lasting impact on both basic cancer biology and clinical approaches to treatment.


Prof. Dalla-Favera is Professor of Microbiology & Immunology, Pathology & Cell Biology, Genetics & Development, Percy & Joanne Uris Professor of Clinical Medicine and Director, Institute for Cancer Genetics.


Throughout his career, he has received numerous prestigious awards for his contributions to cancer research, including the election to the National Academy of Sciences and National Academy of Medicine.
